On August 10th a Bates County Deputy responded to a
residence on County Road 13004 in Adrian, MO to take a stolen vehicle report.
The victim stated that his 1996 GMC Sierra had been stolen during the night. He
advised the Deputy that the truck had been unlocked and the keys had been in
it. He had just purchased the truck and did not have a license plate on it yet.
A few hours later a Deputy responded to a residence on County Road 8004 in
Butler. The reporting party stated that there was a GMC truck turned over in
the cornfield directly across the road from her house. The truck was identified
as the one stolen from the residence in Adrian. The owner of the truck was
contacted and he requested it to be towed from the scene.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
