The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Harrisonville City Lake near Pleasant Hill to assist the Pleasant Hill Fire Department locate a stranded boater. City of Harrisonville Lake Caretaker located the boat and two occupants. Everyone was returned safely and the boat was towed back to the ramp. The owner experienced a dead battery on the far side of the lake and was able to call 9-1-1 for help.
“We are thankful to have a positive outcome to this situation. A cooperative effort between City staff, fire department, and the Sheriff’s Office made sure this fishing trip ended safely.,” said Sheriff Jeff Weber.
Boaters are reminded to make sure you have all safety equipment on board and leave a travel plan with someone in case of unexpected delays or emergency.
