A Sheldon man is in custody after Deputies responded to a call of a stabbing late Monday night.
According to Sheriff’s Office Officials, the incident took place on W. Commercial Street in
Sheldon, MO where it was reported that the victim was stabbed multiple times by a family
member after a verbal disagreement. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher says that Deputies
were notified that the suspect had left the scene on foot. Deputies were quickly able to get to the
area and locate the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident. Mosher said the victim
was treated at the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect has been
identified as 20-year-old Wesley Campbell. On Tuesday afternoon, the Courts issued a warrant
charging Campbell with 2nd Degree Domestic Assault and Armed Criminal Action.
Campbell is currently being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
