The Appleton City Community has once again joined together for a beautiful Christmas presentation to be enjoyed by everyone Sunday, December 5 at 5:00 p.m.  Community choir, children’s choir, band and live nativity will be presented for your enjoyment at the Lakeview Barn venue.  There will be no admission fee. Refreshments will be served. Annie Johnson, local resident, has written and directed the event. You are invited to come enjoy this year’s Christmas Vesper at Lakeview Barn venue, 15559 SE Co Rd 2576, Appleton City (the City Lake)

The 25th Annual Christmas in the Country will be Saturday, December 4, 2021.  The Depot Craft Show, sponsored by the AC Museum, will feature returning popular artisans with their handmade items and space for a few more.  Contact Patty Bartz at 660-598-4151 for information. New events and open houses are encouraged throughout the day. Christmas in the Country has become a community event that supporters look forward to each year.  It provides an opportunity to shop locally for those on your Christmas list and enjoy the Christmas Spirit in AC.

Hudson Hustler’s 4-H Club will host its annual Loaded Baked Potato Bar at ACHS Commons from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4 with the Christmas in the Country activities. Baked potatoes will be $7 each, including a dessert and drink.  Pre-order and carry-out are options, as well as eating in the high school commons.  For information, please contact Jamie O’Farrell at 660-492-3573 or Jennifer Hawkins at 417-359-3846.

Vendors are wanted at 5th Annual AC PTO Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Saturday, December 4 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the AC High School gym and commons area.  There will be a variety of vendors ready to share their holiday specials.  If you are interested in being a vendor, contact Jennifer Hawkins at jenniferhawkinstriplehfarm@gmail.com or 417-359-3846.  Also, follow AC Elementary PTO Facebook page to find additional information. There will be hourly door prizes (need not be present to win) and the event is free of charge for the community to attend.  Donations will be accepted, as this event is earmarked to help continue the PTO’s campaign of capital improvements to the school.

Appleton City Hosts “A Whoville Christmas” Parade December 4 starting at 4:00 p.m., in conjunction with Christmas in the Country festivities.  Groups, individuals, etc. interested in being in the parade, please let Lyndsi Davis Rivera know by texting her at 660-4642575.

St. Mary’s School in Montrose is having their annual Fall Fiesta Fundraiser dinner 5:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4. This is a free will donation dinner that includes tacos with fixings, dessert, and drink. They will also have games/crafts, a silent auction (bidding will close at 8:00 p.m.) and basket and 50-50 raffles (drawings will be held December 13). They appreciate your continued support of St. Mary’s School.

The Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at the Knight’s Hall in Montrose on Sunday, December 12 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.  Treat your family to a hot breakfast you don’t have to cook or clean up.  A free will donation will be greatly appreciated

AN ACT OF KINDNESS to show your appreciation to our area serviceman, please MAIL A CHRISTMAS CARD to servicemen’s names that were received. Some are stationed a long way from Appleton City.  Tell them who you are, belong to, classmate of parents, know your grandparents, etc.  Whatever you can tell them about your connection in AC. Just signing a name leaves them wondering who this is.
