The AC School annual Senior Citizens Christmas dinner will be Thursday December 16, 2021. They want to keep our valued citizens safe, so they will be serving to-go meals only. Please call the central office at 660-476-2161, or the high school office at 660-476-2118 to reserve your meals. Meals may be picked up between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. at the circle drive in front of the school. The students are excited to prepare and serve our senior citizens, so please make plans to stop by and visit and enjoy some great food.
The monthly Men’s Fellowship Breakfast at the Appleton City Church of God will be 7:00 a.m. on Saturday December 11. All the men of the community are invited to join them for a time of great food and fellowship. Randy Hargis will have a short devotional.
The Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at the Knight’s Hall in Montrose on Sunday, December 12 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Treat your family to a hot breakfast you don’t have to cook or clean up. A free will donation will be greatly appreciated
Darrell Pohlman will host his annual Christmas display (weather permitting) from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. nightly through December 24. The display can be seen at 513 W. 7th St. in Appleton City. This will be the last year for the display. Darrell plans to retire after this Christmas.
Santa Claus will be returning to Rockville United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 18 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. for the annual Photos and Story Time with Santa. Children, young and old, are invited to visit Santa, have their pictures taken, and listen to Santa tell stories about the true meaning of Christmas! Each child and family will receive a gift from Santa. Milk and cookies will be provided. They hope to see you there!
Let’s all help keep our little ones warm this winter! Zink Motor Company is hosting a hat and glove drive for the kids in the Appleton City and surrounding areas from December 2 to December 17. If you wish to donate, the drop off location will be at the Zink Motor Company showroom Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00 and Saturday, 8:00 – noon.
Christmas and New Year’s Masses at Immaculate Conception Church in Montrose and St. Patrick’s Church in Butler are as follows: Christmas Eve – Immaculate Conception 4:00 p.m., St. Patrick 7:00 p.m. Christmas Day – Immaculate Conception 8:00 a.m.
A reminder to Appleton City residents that taxes are due December 31. A penalty will be assessed for any late payments. Taxes are now payable to the County Collector at the courthouse in Osceola.

Tell them who you are, belong to…., classmate of parents, know your grandparents, etc. Anything that might tell them about your connection in AC. Just a name leaves them wondering who is this?
