AC Landmarks will host a Baked Potato Bar Lunch 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. March 17 at the MK&T Railroad Depot. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, with a large baked potato, dessert and drink for lunch (carry outs only). The hot steamy potato will be served with toppings of chili, cheese, broccoli, bacon and sour cream. Homemade cakes and drinks round out the meal for $7. Proceeds will be used for maintenance of Museum, Depot and old Library.
The 12th annual Wee Bit O’Parade will be Thursday, March 17, at 1:00 p.m. Anyone can participate in this family-friendly event. Simply be at Forest Park at 12:45 for the stroll down Main Street to welcome spring and celebrate the Irish in all of us. Please contact Lyndsi Davis – Lyndsi Davis Rivera at 660-464-2575 if you plan to participate, so a general idea of how many will be participating in the parade can be gained ahead of the 17th.
The ACHS Junior Class will have a drive through tenderloin sandwich 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. (or until they sell out) Sunday, March 20. Pick up will be in the circle drive of the school. They are offering a tenderloin sandwich and a bag of chips for $9.00. Proceeds will be used to sponsor the ACHS After Prom Activities. In addition to the sandwiches, the class will also sponsor a Cornhole Tournament starting at 1:00 p.m. There will be a $40 entry fee per team. They would like teams to sign up by March 15 so they can have an idea on how many to expect. They can call or text Bill Berry at 417-309-1855 to sign up. They will also be doing a 50/50 raffle
Immaculate Conception Church Lenten Fish Fry Dinners will be served March 18 and April 1 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s School Hall, Montrose. They plan to serve carry out and dine-in at this time. (They will adjust as needed for the current conditions.) The menu is fried fish, Suzy Q’s, cole saw, corn bread, cookies and a drink. Adults eat for $12, children under 10 for $6
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will provide six free waste pesticide collection events in 2022. All of the events will be open from 8:00 a.m. to noon and are open to all Missouri farmers and households. March 26 – Appleton City Municipal Services (City Barn), 110 S. Maple St., Appleton City. Accepted: Herbicides, Insecticides, Fungicides, Rodenticides, De-wormers, Fly tags and Fertilizers containing pesticide. Not Accepted: Paint, Explosives, Fire extinguishers, Yard waste, Electronics, Trash, pesticides from businesses, pesticide-production facilities, pesticide distributors, pesticide retailers or similar entities. St. Clair County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship Application is now available. If you are a resident of St. Clair County, high school senior or a full-time college student, and majoring in an agricultural related field, you are encouraged to apply. The 2022—2023 Appleton City Kindergarten Enrollment and Screenings will be held on April 7. Call the Elementary Office for an appointment at 660-476-2161. If your child will be 5 before August 1, now is the time to begin thinking about Kindergarten enrollment requirements. The following items are required for enrollment: immunization records, state issued birth certificate, social security card and proof of residence. Your child can receive the immunizations that are needed to attend Kindergarten anytime on or after his/her fourth birthday. You do not need to wait until age five. They encourage you to have your child fully immunized now and bring the immunization record to school on the day of Kindergarten screening. Come support the AC Track Project Saturday, April 16 with a night of Mouse Racing, Mouse Roulette, amazing auction item, and a gun raffle. A ticket is required to enter this fun event and only 300 tickets will be sold. Your ticket includes entry into the event, dinner and two drinks for only $25. Because ACHS co-ops with Montrose HS for track, it will be held at the Montrose Community Building. Tickets are available at Powell’s True Value Hardware and from various community members including: Brittanni Turner, Tricia Swaters, Jana Wareham, Amber Strope, Ashley Deel, Brooke Powell and Cindy Beebe. The Field of Pride & Track Project is in the final stretch of fundraising and funding for the track is over 60% completed prior to this event.

To receive a quilt to use in your charitable fund raising, all you have to do is enter an essay telling about your non-profit, its name, who you serve, how you would use the quilt in this endeavor and any other important information you would like them to know.
