The 2022—2023 Appleton City Kindergarten Enrollment and Screenings will be held on April 7. Call the Elementary Office for an appointment at 660-476-2161. If your child will be 5 before August 1, now is the time to begin thinking about Kindergarten enrollment requirements. The following items are required for enrollment: immunization records, state issued birth certificate, social security card and proof of residence. Your child can receive the immunizations that are needed to attend Kindergarten anytime on or after his/her fourth birthday. You do not need to wait until age five. They encourage you to have your child fully immunized now and bring the immunization record to school on the day of Kindergarten screening. If you have questions regarding required immunizations, please feel free to contact Nikki Piepmeier, School Nurse, at 660-476-2161, option #7.
Ellett Memorial Hospital Auxiliary announces a Collective Goods Book Fair to be held at the Hospital outpatient hallway on Tuesday, April 12 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Shop a wide variety of books, cook books, DIY’s, kids’ reading and activity books, home décor, kitchen items, electronics and outdoor/indoor games. These make gifts for any age range. Everyone welcome to come shop right before Easter weekend.
The last Immaculate Conception Church Lenten Fish Fry Dinner will be April 1 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s School Hall, Montrose. They serve carry out and dine-in. (The menu is fried fish, Suzy Q’s, cole saw, corn bread, cookies and a drink. Adults eat for $12, children under 10 for $6
Come support the AC Track Project Saturday, April 16 with a night of Mouse Racing, Mouse Roulette, amazing auction item, and a gun raffle. Only 300 tickets will be sold, which includes entry into the event, dinner and two drinks for only $25. Because ACHS co-ops with Montrose HS for track, it will be held at the Montrose Community Building. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at Powell’s Tru Value Hardware and various community members including: Brittanni Turner, Tricia Swaters, Jana Wareham, Amber Strope, Ashley Deel, Brooke Powell and Cindy Beebe. Check the AC Athletic Boosters, Inc. Facebook page for more details, including how to name a mouse or a race. The Field of Pride & Track Project is in the final stretch of fundraising and funding for the track is over 60% completed prior to this event.
The AIM Club will be sponsoring their Easter Egg Hunt on 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Montrose Ball Park. Kids ages 0-4th grade are welcome to participate. The Easter Bunny will be there to deliver candy and for pictures.
The AIM Club will be sponsoring their 2nd Annual Dirty Bunny Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday evening, April 16, 2022. 50 tickets will be sold before the event at $20.00 apiece. First place prize is $250.00, second is $150.00 and third is $75.00. Check in will be at the Montrose Ball Park from 7:30 – 8:15 p.m. The hunt will begin at 8:30 p.m. You must be 21 to participate. Appleton City First Baptist would like to invite widows of our community to “Young at Heart Widows Event”, a fun day out April 23 at 11:00. They will meet at the church and go to lunch and then go to Powell’s Botanical Gardens in Kingsville. This is a free event. They just ask you RSVP by April 11. If you are a resident of St. Clair County, high school senior or a full-time college student, and majoring in an agricultural related field, you are encouraged to apply.
