Trinity United Methodist Church Back to School clothing giveaway has been extended to Saturday, August 27 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Church Fellowship Hall. They still have lots of nice clothing available, suitable for school age children (Kindergarten – 12th grade).
Is your school, 501c3 not-for-profit organization, church, or governmental entity seeking funds for a project? Truman Lake Community Foundation, Inc. can help. The Truman Lake Community Foundation Grantmaking Program Fall 2022 Application cycle opens August 1, 2022. Grant applications must be completed online at https://www.grantinterface.com/Process/Apply?urlkey=cfozarksgrants (be sure to look for the Truman Lake Community Foundation Grantmaking Program Fall 2022) before the 5:00 p.m. August 31, 2022 deadline. The AC football game next week at Archie will now be played Thursday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. The game against Liberal will now be played Thursday, October 6 at 6:00 p.m.
The Annual Labor Day Picnic at Immaculate Conception Parish (606 Kansas Ave., Montrose) will be held on Monday, September 5. They will offer family-style dine-in meal in the school basement, along with an outdoor dining and carry out tent. Come join them for a tasty fried chicken dinner served from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The menu includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, dressing, green beans, slaw, bread & butter pickles, homemade pie and drink. All this is only $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under. Children under 5 eat free. The huge country store is open from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. There will also be cakewalk, dunk tank and bingo open at 11:00 a.m. Corn hole starts at 10:30. A homemade pie auction will begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by the cash and quilt raffles.
The AC 50+ Social Club next meeting will be 6:00 p.m. August 24 at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. A representative from Area Agency on Aging will be there to discuss services available for seniors. The menu will be biscuits and gravy. Please feel free to bring a side dish, dessert or beverage to share but it is not required. For any questions, call Stephanie at 660-207-2423.
Free private tennis lessons are offered to all current or former players and anyone who want to improve their technique or strategies or first time players. People of almost any age and skills can learn to play tennis. Lessons are held at the tennis courts at Donnohue-Dugan Park. Rackets and balls will be provided. Open tennis is every day 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tennis is exercise that is fun!

The AC Pool is closed for normal swimming Monday – Friday this week. They will be open 11:00 – 5:00 Saturday and Sunday.
