Today in local news fm-92 features Kathryn Rechenberg, the granddaughter of Phil and the late Margaret Hess former owners of the Hess Pharmacy that was located on the north side of the Butler Square.
Grandfather Phil has something to brag about as Kathryn is his granddaughter and the 3rd generation is the Hess family to become a pharmacist. Kathryn will graduate in May of this year.
Phil Hess being the first-generation owner and pharmacist. Phil and wife Margaret owned and operated Hess Pharmacy since 1967. The couple retired in 2004.
Phil’s Daughter Mary is the second generation, Mary is a Dean of Pharmacy at Jefferson University Pharmacy in Philadelphia PA. Kathryn, Phil’s Granddaughter will be the third generation of Pharmacist in the family graduating in May from UMKC
Recently Kathryn Competed against 109 teams across the United States in the 2020 ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge. Kathryn along with teammates Brooke Jacobson and Jamie Sullivan won first place.
Congratulation to the Hess family for continuing to serve their community as pharmacist. Mr. Hess you sure do have something to brag about!
