In News from Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Two Bates County residents have been charged as the result of an investigation conducted by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office at the request of the Bates County
Sheriff Chad Anderson.
Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said his office received a
request from Sheriff Anderson to investigate a report of sexual assault that was reported
to his office. Mosher said one of the subjects named in the complaint was an employee of
the county and Sheriff Anderson wanted an independent investigation conducted.
Sheriff Anderson said “I appreciate the relationship we have with Vernon County
Sheriff’s Office. Being able to request an outside agency for these types of reports is
important to the integrity of the case and builds trust in the community.”
The suspects have been identified and charged with the following:
Kyle B Mallatt, 38 of Butler, Missouri. Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy 1st Degree and
Sodomy 2nd degree. Bond set at $10,000
Rachelle L Mallatt, 37 of Butler, Missouri. Hindering Prosecution of Felony and
Tampering With a Witness in a Felony Prosecution. Bond set at $4,500
Both Kyle and Rachelle turned themselves in to authorities and were released after
posting bond until the scheduled court hearing.
