At approximately 1230 On 2/17/2020, Deputies were dispatched to a report
of multiple people being stabbed at a residence in Amoret Missouri. Deputies
arrived on scene and immediately took one female subject into custody in the
street at a residence on the corner of Monroe St and 2nd. The female was the
Granddaughter and niece of the victims.
Upon entry into the house deputies found one female with serious injuries on
the floor with serious life threatening injuries. A second female, who also had
life threatening injuries, was transported to the hospital via a good Samaritan
prior to the deputies arrival. Medical crews arrived and began providing
medical treatment to the female found in the house. That female victim was
transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital. Both female victims
were later transferred to trauma centers in Kansas City.
A search warrant was issued to search the residence
in reference to this crime. Detectives processed the crime scene until
approximately 7pm.
Kaylea Jo Turner, 20 year old female from Amoret
has been charged with 4 counts:
2 counts of Assault 1st degree-serious physical
injury a Class A Felony.
2 counts of Armed criminal action an unclassified
Felony.
Bond was set at $500,000 cash or surety.

Bates County Broadcasting opened as a single day-time station on May 11th 1962. Broadcasting from sunrise to sunset 7-days each week. This was the first radio station to broadcast in the Bates County Area. Owned and Operated by Bill Thornton and his brother Jerry Thornton.
In 1975 the FM Frequency was added and the stations simulcast. The FM has a 24 hours license but just broadcast from 6 am until 10 pm.
