UPDATE: Single Vehicle Accident Sends One to Hospital and One Subject That Fled the Scene

On 8/9/20 around 5:05pm the Butler Fire Department along with Bates County Sheriff’s Deputies, Bates County EMS, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers and Adrian Fire Department all responded to a one vehicle rollover accident at the Passaic Exit of I-49.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2011 Dodge Avenger driven by 25 year old Ford A. Bolkenstyn of Independence, Missouri was traveling northbound on the exit ramp, driver failed to negotiate the intersection striking a guardrail before overturning down the embankment and landing on its wheels. The driver was completely ejected and the passenger was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. Bolkenstyn along with a passenger in his vehicle 29 year old  Keith D. Adkins Jr. of Raytown, Missouri both sustained moderate injuries in this accident and both were transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

Mr. Adkins fled from the scene of the accident and he was later found in rural Passaic.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Adrian Tow.
